Transferring a spatial planning methodology

September 2014 | Print | Factsheet

The GreenInfraNet project is a partnership of 12 regions from across Europe. The partners are working together to promote the development and implementation of green infrastructure in EU regions. The identification and transfer of good practices is a key component of the GreenInfraNet project and one of its main goals. This factsheet, which has been produced in English and Hungarian, describes the transfer of the Territorial information System for the Network of Open Areas in the Province of Barcelona (SITxell) to the Central Hungary region. The integrated geographic information system assesses natural and socioeconomic land values as a basis for green infrastructure policies, and was used by Hungarian partners to develop a new approach to harmonising the needs of natural areas with spatial planning aspects in two pilot micro-regions in Central Hungary.

The GreenInfraNet project is implemented with the support of the REC's Environmental Financing Topic Area. The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and made possible by the INTERREG IVC Programme.
