Newsletter of the Environmental Protection of International River Basins project

May 2014 | Print | Periodical

The Environmental Protection of International River Basins (EPIRB) project targets the improvement of water quality in transboundary river basins in the wider Black Sea region and Belarus. Issue 3 of In the Flow, the project newsletter, features a Q&A with Svetlana Stirbu, First Deputy Director of the State Hydrometeorological Service of the Republic of Moldova, as well as articles on the importance of public consultation in the development of river basin management plans (RBMPs), and on association agreements (AAs), which help to establish a framework for bilateral relations. Also covered in the issue is the EPIRB project’s first ever regional RBMP workshop, which was held in Minsk on March 20-21, 2014. The four-page newsletter also contains a list of upcoming events scheduled for June and July 2014.

The EU-funded EPIRB project is implemented with the assistance of the REC’s Water Management Topic Area, as part of a consortium led by Hulla and Co. Human Dynamics KG.
