Regional assessment of the policy, legislative and institutional frameworks implementing the Carpathian Convention
The Regional Assessment on the Carpathian Convention, together with the Handbook on the Carpathian Convention (published by the REC in 2007), are intended to contribute to the sustainable development of the Carpathian region. Both studies are expected to raise awareness of the value of these mountains and of the functioning of the legal instrument protecting them. The two publications provide a clear picture of the common priorities of the Carpathian countries and of the issues that most urgently need to be addressed to ensure the effective implementation of the convention.
