A launch event for the project "Sustainable Development Goals in the Western Balkans" was co-hosted by REC Montenegro and the Minstry of Sustainable Development and Tourism of Montenegro (MSDT) on February 28, 2018. The project is funded by the German Federal Environment Ministry's Advisory Assistance Programme (AAP) for environmental protection in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia, and other countries neighbouring the European Union and supervised by the German Environment Agency (UBA).

The meeting was opened by State Secretary for the Environment Mr. Saša Radulović and Director General of the Directorate for Climate Change and Mediterranean Affairs of MSDT Mr. Ešef Husić. The REC was represented by Ms. Srna Sudar, senior expert from REC Montenegro and national project coordinator, who gave an introductory address on behalf of Ms. Ruza Radovic, director of REC Montenegro.
