Workshop
on Promoting Renewable Energy in South Eastern Europe through International
Cooperation
The workshop Promoting Renewable Energy in South Eastern Europe through
International Cooperation, which was organised jointly by the REEEP Regional
Secretariat for CEE and Turkey, the Open University, and the Hrvoje Pozar
Energy Institute, was held in Zagreb, Croatia, on March 17–18, 2008,
at the premises of the Hrvoje Pozar Energy Institute.

Workshop
for Environmental and Social Housing
A one-day workshop on Environmental and Social Housing was organised on
February 25, 2008, in Budapest by the Environmentally and Socially Aware
Project and Business Development Company, DVD Ltd., in cooperation with
the REEEP Regional Secretariat for CEE and Turkey, It was hosted by the
Department of Environmental Sciences & Policy of the Central European
University.

Workshop
on Renewables Connection to the Network
With funding provided by the REEEP Regional
Secretariat and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID),
the Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA) organised the Workshop
on "Renewables Connection to the Network" on October 3, in Zagreb,
Croatia.

REEEP
Regional Meeting for CEE&Turkey
The REEEP Regional Secretariat for CEE&Turkey
(RS) and its Steering Committee members, director of REEEP International
Secretariat and representatives of various stakeholder groups came together
to be updated about the latest activities of the RS, to discuss the priorities
for projects on policy and regulation and financing of the region for
2008/09, and to brainstorm about the RS potential activities for the next
year. The Meeting was held at Central European University in Budapest.
Hungary
joins REEEP
The Hungarian government officially
joined the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership (REEEP)
on September 24, 2007 during a signing ceremony hosted by the UK Embassy,
Budapest. The partnership agreement was signed by Ministry of Economy
and Transport State Secretary Abel Garamhegyi, as official representative
of the Hungarian government, UK Ambassador HE John Nichols, and Director
of REEEP International Secretariat Marianne Moscoso-Osterkorn. The signing
ceremony was attended by representatives of ministries, embassies, energy
agencies, regulators, businesses, NGOs, academia and the media.
REEEP Programme
Board Preparatory Meeting
20th June 2006, Budapest
The objectives of the meeting were:
-Define the regional programming needs in Central
and Eastern Europe and Turkey to serve as an input to the REEEP Programme
Board;
- Update the regional programming needs and strategy
in the Regional Action Plan;
- Elect a regional representative to represent
the region for two years in the REEEP Programme Board.

ERRA EU Integration
Working Group
9th June 2006, Budapest
The purpose of the meeting was to learn
about the Guarantees of Origin and about the Renewable Energy Certificate
System. Participants did have the opportunity to hear about the history
of certificate trading in Europe, the use of the guarantees of origin,
the Austrian, British and Australian experience with trading of guarantees
of origin.

Regional
Preparatory Meeting
One of five regional meetings organised by REEEP regional secretariats
worldwide served for the preparation of the input to the REEEP Programme
Board meeting. The meeting took place on September
13, 2005 in Szentendre, Hungary. The document outlining REEEP
regional programme priorities was the main outcome of the meeting.

Planning cooperation
between REEEP and MEDREP regional activities
The Third REEEP Regional Meeting served for consultation about the action
