A new financial mechanism for EE projects in apartment blocks, which was developed by DVD Ltd., was introduced during the workshop. The new mechanism aims to make it possible for low-income tenants to enter the market, and, besides insulation and heating system renewal, it aims to provide them with social support for the whole project period. The morning session focused on local interest groups such as the Hungarian Housing Association, while the afternoon session targeted the international audience, which included participants from the Council of Europe Development Bank, the Bulgarian EE Fund, the Bulgarian Housing Association, international energy efficiency companies, as well as participants from the Hungarian state-owned district heating company (FOTÁV Zrt.). During the conference, participants had an opportunity
to discuss the new mechanism and to seek possibilities for international
expansion, in which REEEP is willing to take part. In addition to the
speakers’ presentations, representatives of the Hungarian Ministry
of Environment and Water, housing associations and financial institutions
had an opportunity to share their opinions, concerns and suggestions. Downloads of the first session
