The REC Library holds approximately 4,200 books, 4,800 pamphlets, 150 periodicals, 150 video cassettes, 250 reference guides, 70 CD-ROMS, legal documentation and REC grants products covering a wide range of environmental topics related to Central and Eastern Europe, including:

  • state of environment assessment;
  • EU accession and compliance;
  • environmental education; 
  • good environmental governance
  • professional expertise;  
  • environmental management; 
  • environmental policy and legislation; and 
  • sustainable development technologies.

Library Use

The library collections are available to the public Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the REC head office in Szentendre, Hungary.

All of the library collections may be used for reference on the library premises - borrowing services are not available. The photocopying service allows 50 photocopies free of charge. A computer is available for searching the collections and for Internet research.
