Local Water Security Action Planning

Local Water Security Action Planning
February 2016 | Print | Leaflet

The regional project "Sustainable Use of Transboundary Water Resources and Water Security Management" (WATER SUM) addresses water-related challenges and promotes regional cooperation in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) through two project components: Water Resources Management Good Practices and Knowledge Transfer (WATER POrT); and Water Security in Local Communities (WaSe). This leaflet describes how the WaSe component is promoting local water security action plans (LSWAPs) in eight self-governing territories in the MENA region. The seven activities and 20 steps in the planning process are outlined in a clear infographic, which will be used to guide local water stakeholders to create appropriate and effective LWSAPs.

The WaSe component is implemented by the REC's Local Governance Topic Area. The WATER SUM project is funded by the Government of Sweden.
