Forest Fire Country Studies
October 2015 | Print | Paper

This series of studies on forest fires was prepared under the project “Addressing the risks of forest fires in South Eastern Europe”, implemented in the framework of the Environment and Security Initiative (ENVSEC) in synergy with the Themis Network. The studies explore the status quo and forest fire risks in South Eastern Europe (SEE), as well as the policy and institutional responses currently in place. It also identifies gaps and needs in the context of those responses and proposes recommendations for future improvement. Studies were prepared for Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.

The project was implemented by the REC’s Law Development, Enforcement and Compliance Topic Area with funding from the Austrian Development Cooperation.
