The US Department of State's Regional Environment, Science & Technology, and Health (ESTH) hub has partnered with the REC to bring together policy makers, businesspeople, academics and civil society leaders at municipal level in selected cities in Ukraine to develop local environmental and energy action plans (LEAPs). This factsheet describes how the project, which runs until December 2015, will help the municipalities of Poltava, Cherkasy and Ivano-Frankivsk to carry out assessments, plan activities and establish indicators for monitoring as part of the LEAP drafting process.

The project is implemented by the REC’s Local Governance Topic Area with funding from the US Department of State and the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment of the Netherlands.
