Improving public access to environmental information, public participation and access to justice
The project Building Bridges between Regions: Improving Public Access to Environmental Information, Public Participation and Access to Justice provides a forum for the exchange of experience between parties and stakeholders to the Aarhus Convention and other regions, primarily Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), on implementing Principle 10 of the 1992 Rio Declaration of the UN Conference on Environment and Development through dialogue and cooperation. A web-based platform has been developed for sharing best practices related to the benefits of implementing the Aarhus Convention, and related capacity-building programmes will be organised in 2015 and 2016. This website provides background information on activities, partners and beneficiaries, and makes available downloadable information sheets on the project and the Eye on Access for All Special Initiative.
The project is funded by the Abu Dhabi Global Environmental Data Initiative as part of the Eye on Access for All Special Initiative, in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme. It is implemented by the REC's Participatory Governance Topic Area in cooperation with the European Environmental Bureau.
