Applying the Aarhus Convention in radioactive waste management
The project Implementing Public Participation Approaches in Radioactive Waste Disposal (IPPA) ran from January 2011 to September 2013. This publication is the final report of Work Package 3.3 of the project and explores the application of Aarhus Convention requirements in the context of radioactive waste management. The book discusses the findings of the Aarhus Convention sessions held in the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia, as reported by national representatives and reviewed at a European workshop held in Hungary in 2012.
The IPPA project was co-funded by the European Commission under the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom) for nuclear research and training activities, and was implemented by a consortium including the REC's Participatory Governance Topic Area.
