Sumotomo Chemical's support to the REC
The concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR) emerged when multinational corporations introduced another term, "stakeholder", to represent all groups on whom a company's business activities will have an impact. As part of its CSR-related activity, Sumitomo Chemical, a leading Japanese company, has provided generous financial support to the REC since 2010.
Sumitomo Chemical’s contribution of JPY 15 million over three years has allowed the REC to carry out a range of programmes and activities that promote environmental career opportunities, public awareness raising and sustainable development practices.
This six-page brochure provides an overview of Sumitomo Chemical’s company history, outlines the company’s philosophical approach to CSR, and summarises the many environmental activities and projects that the REC has been able to carry out with Sumitomo’s generous financial support.
