The REC established its country office in the Poland in 1991 to assist in addressing environmental issues in Central and Eastern Europe by promoting cooperation among governments, NGOs, businesses and other environmental stakeholders and by supporting the free exchange of information and public participation in environmental decision making. Working in partnership with ministries, regional and local authorities, NGOs, universities and businesses in Poland, the office implements projects in the fields of water management, climate change, sustainable development, green transport, awareness raising and capacity building.
