Green Horizon – Volume 3, Number 4

Green Horizon
December 2006 | Print | Periodical

Green Horizon, the quarterly magazine of the REC, was published in printed form until 2008. Green Horizon assists the REC in its mission to promote public participation in environmental decision making by providing information on the environment and encouraging cooperation among regional stakeholders. The magazine continues to report on the cases and stories that shape the environment as Green Horizon Online (www.greenhorizon-online.com).

This issue contains five articles highlighting local initiatives in Central and Eastern Europe. Other articles focus on sustainable community development, a castle renovation project, sanitation investment in Albania, the history of environmental planning in Polish towns, and a local biking initiative in Poland. There are also feature articles on alternatives to atomic energy, funding gaps in the green movement, and regional revitalisation through the establishment of a transboundary park.
