Green Horizon – Volume 3, Number 1

Green Horizon
March 2006 | Print | Periodical

Green Horizon, the quarterly magazine of the REC, was published in printed form until 2008. Green Horizon assists the REC in its mission to promote public participation in environmental decision making by providing information on the environment and encouraging cooperation among regional stakeholders. The magazine continues to report on the cases and stories that shape the environment as Green Horizon Online (www.greenhorizon-online.com).

This issue takes a close look at the natural environment, with articles on halting EU biodiversity loss, saving Poland's Bialowieza Forest, promoting locally produced goods in the Czech Republic, and the granting of a new protection status to Lake Shkodra. Other articles cover eco-enforcement, cleaner fuel production, and pre-accession funds for EU candidate countries.
