Sustainability or environmental indicators are tools used to visualise changes in complex environmental systems by expressing those changes numerically. They play a key role in tracking progress towards meeting sustainability and environmental targets, including the urgent goal of attaining a low-carbon future. This leaflet provides an introduction to the Low-Carbon Indicators Toolkit, one of the outputs of the Regions for Sustainable Change (RSC) project, which provides assistance in identifying, selecting, measuring and reporting on low-carbon indicators.
