The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is inviting civil society organisations, clients, partners and other interested parties to comment on draft revisions of the Bank's Public Information Policy.

The full text of the policy and a detailed explanation of the current revision process are available here.

In order for the Bank to understand a wide range of comments, and to improve the quality of the revision, the EBRD is organising two half-day public consultation meetings:

Moscow: Wednesday, April 27, 2011, from 9.30 am at Holiday Inn Moscow Simonovsky, Krutitsky Hall, Simonovsky  val 2, 109044, Moscow, Russia in English and with Russian translation.

London: Tuesday, May 10, 2011, from 9.30 am at EBRD's Headquarters, One Exchange Square, London EC2A 2JN, United Kingdom in English.

The Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe (REC) will organise the public consultation meetings and provide independent facilitation.

Participation in the public consultation meetings is open to any interested person or organisation and without charge.

The EBRD has made available limited financial support to help cover the travel and accommodation expenses of a number of civil society participants in the public meetings, according to criteria agreed with the REC, who will ultimately determine the recipients of the funding. Please follow the embedded links to register for the meeting in Moscow, to register for the meeting in London, and to obtain information about financial support criteria and application deadlines, or e-mail Kaidi Tingas. (Link to relevant Russian-language documents below.)

Comments, suggestions or recommendations on the revised draft public information policy are welcome electronically at pipreviewcomment@ebrd.com and or in writing to Mr Nikola Milushev, EBRD, One Exchange Square, London EC2A 2JN, United Kingdom.

The deadline for submitting written comments is May 30, 2011

All the comments received at the public meetings and via post and e-mail will be taken into account by the EBRD as part of the decision-making process to adopt the new policy. The EBRD will prepare a report on the comments and responses, summarised by topic, which will be published on the Bank's website following the consultation period.
