Within the project scope of planned country visits, the SEEDLING team visited Tirana, Albania on May 10–12, 2016. The team met the SEEDLING contact person and focal point on ESD from the Albanian Ministry of Environment, Enkelejda Malaj.
Malaj expressed strong support for the project on behalf of the ministry, and also discussed other possible areas of cooperation with the REC.
A meeting with educators and experts from the Institute for Development of Education and secondary school professors was also held in Tirana. REC Senior Expert Kornelija Radovanovikj summarised the origins and evolvement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and presented the project activities and development methodology of the new SDG multimedia tool for secondary schools.
All participants signalled strong support for the initiative and expressed satisfaction with the continuation of educational activities in the region. The group considered possible areas of institutional support while also discussing practical implementation measures related to the development of a new multimedia tool within the scope of the SEEDLING project.
