The Third Water, Growth and Stability Conference (WGS3) is planned for April 10-13, 2017 at the Dead Sea, Jordan. The WGS3 is also the closing event of the REC’s project “Sustainable Use of Transboundary Water Resources and Water Security Management in the MENA region (WaterSUM)”, which is supported by the Government of Sweden through the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
The goals of the conference are to:
- boost the Water, Growth and Sustainability Initiative (WGSIni), review the results achieved to date, and discuss future steps;
- set up a platform for policy dialogue;
- present the key results of the REC project “Sustainable Use of Transboundary Water Resources and Water Security Management in the MENA region (WaterSUM)” and set up a platform for knowledge exchange; and
- open up new horizons for future activities.
Papers and posters
The WGS3 Scientific Committee will assess all submitted papers and posters. Committee members include researchers and academics from various institutions in the MENA region institutions and from other international recognised institutions.
Selected papers will be published during the WGS3 proceedings, and also made available on the WGSIni website and disseminated free of charge. Selected authors participating in WGS3 will be invited to present their papers during the conference.
Selected posters will be displayed during WGS3, and selected authors and designers participating in the conference will be invited to present their work at a dedicated poster session.
Guidelines for paper and poster submissions will be made available in the coming weeks.
