This sub-regional workshop will focus on the Watershed Integrity Index, a tool that enables communities to characterise and assess risk factors to the biological and ecological integrity, health, resilience and sustainability of watersheds. The methodology addresses six vital watershed systems: hydrologic regulation, the regulation of water chemistry, sediment regulation, hydrological connectivity, temperature regulation and habitat provision, using spatial data and identified stressors. The tool will be used in the Drina River to identify management options at local, regional and international level. The workshop will provide an opportunity for nine local communities in Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia to share lessons learnt and experiences on the implementation of pilot projects supported by the CRESSIDA project.
