Established in 2013, the USAID/USEA Southeast Europe Distribution System Operator Security of Supply Working Group (SEE DSO SoS WG) brings together ten electricity distribution system operators from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Georgia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia to assist in adapting to new network challenges and to improve their response capabilities and overall system management through regional collaboration.
Since 2013, SEE SoS WG completed 3 studies, 1 report and 2 projects, one of which is the study named “Connection of Distributed Generation to Distribution Networks: Recommendations for Technical Requirements, Procedures and Agreements”. The objectives of this study were to analyse all sorts of technical aspects important for stable, safe and economic operation of distribution systems with increased integration of distributed generation, and to assist the SEE DSOs develop a set of rules and requirements to streamline a transparent distributed generation connection procedure.
The LEDS-EEP webinar will provide an overview of the work approach and topics covered in the study. Emphasis will be given to distributed generation indicators in the region and observed major barriers for their further deployment. The 45-minutes long presentation and discussion shall serve the LEDS-EEP to prioritize topics and follow-up actions for one of LEDS-EEP working groups.
