On October 2016, the First Eastern Partnership Ministerial Meeting on Environment and Climate Change took place in Luxembourg, attended by the six Eastern Partnership (EaP) partner countries and 23 EU Member States, as well as international organisations and civil society representatives. The meeting led to the adoption of a Ministerial Declaration confirming the joint commitment of the EU and EaP partners to step up cooperation on environment and climate change, and to promote sustainable development and the transition to a green and circular economy.
On March 2-3, 2017, the 5th Meeting of the Eastern Partnership Panel on Environment and Climate Change, to be held in Brussels, will allow participants to discuss approaches towards achieving these ends. The main objectives of the meeting will be to prepare a draft of an action plan for implementing the declaration, as well as to discuss ongoing and future regional programmes related to environment and climate action.
