Although at first glance perhaps not an obvious electronic
tools link, the satellite industry is set to grow enormously
over the coming decades. The market for satellite imagery
is estimated at USD 2bn, while for telecommunications
as much as USD 100bn. Earth observation constitutes
sixteen percent of European civil expenditures on space.
