Ryo Fujikura | Professor, Hosei University, Japan

Ryo Fujikura is a professor at Hosei University, Japan. He received a BSc (in 1978) and an MSc (in 1980) from the University of Tokyo, and a PhD in natural science in 1982 from Innsbruck University, Austria. He served as an officer in the Environment Agency (now the Ministry of the Environment) of Japan between 1984 and 1995. In 1991, he was seconded as an environmental expert to the Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund (now the Japan International Cooperation Agency), a role that he fulfilled until 1993. He was associate professor of Kyushu University, and later professor at Ritsumeikan University from 1995 to 2003. His current research topics include environmental policy formulation and the environmental and social impacts of infrastructure development. He has published over 200 articles, conference presentations, books, and papers.
