This Good Practice Report is structured to provide information in an accessible and user friendly form. There are three central themes to the Good Practice report:
Structure and Content of the Report
- Section two describes the role of the ENWAP User Forum in benchmarking environment telematics applications and in the exchange of information and good practice. Here, the factors, influencing the use of environment telematics in the EU and CEE countries, are outlined, such as fostering the exchange of information between users and researchers, between project participants and non-p articipants, between EU and CEE users. The objectives of the TAP-EN programme have been analysed as well as how telematics can assist CEE countries in the approximation process. To this end, an overview is given on progresses made by six of the candidate countries in Central and Eastern Europe. The progresses sketched briefly on the reforms needed to implement the EU environmental acquis and to enhance the Information Society. The major constraints in applying telematics for CEE environments have also been included in this section.
- Section three identifies best practice in the application of telematics to environmental management and the factors which facilitate or hamper the possible transfer of the demonstration project outputs to new sites.
- Section four provides a set of conclusions and recommendations as to how to promote further dissemination in the EU and in the CEE countries of the know-how, methodology and results provided by the projects.
