The project demonstrated benefits of well-organized
public participation to environmental stakeholders (environmental
administration, municipalities, NGOs, industry) in four regions
of the Czech Republic. The project focused on integration of EIA
and SEA processes and their public participation components. It
was jointly implemented by DHV CR, Ltd and the REC. They jointly
prepared methodology and the REC coordinated 16 training programmes
and demonstration studies on public participation in EIA and SEA.

The aim of the project was to develop the strategic
environmental The project carried out Public Participation in SEA
of the draft Waste Management Plan of the Czech Republic that has
been proposed with response to EU Management requirements within
the Accession Process. It provided eight regional and two national
public discussions. The SEA report of the Waste Management Plan
of the Czech Republic was produced.
