specialization in industrial heating and power systems; founder of the first independent environmental groups in Lithuania (1987) as well as Lithuanian Green Movement (LGM) in 1988; member of the board of LGM between 1988-90; deputy head of the Regional Department of Environment Protection of Kaunas and leader of the NGO alternative community "Atgaja" in Kaunas since 1988; in 1994/1995 studied environmental science in Kalmar University (Sweden) as post-graduate student; independent expert on environmental issues working for a joint USA - Lithuanian consulting company since 1995; main interest in NGO activity is energy policies, antinuclear campaigning legislation issues in Lithuania as well as in the Baltic Region; due to professional activity also has skills in environmental design such as waste water treatment plants, landfills and flu gas treatment equipment.
Publications: Has written several overviews on NGO community development and the status and perspectives of environmental legislation in Lithuania; articles on public participation in projects about transboundary pollution aspects.
