Assistance For Development Of Waste Management Strategies And Projects On Municipal Level In Three Baltic Countries

The need for assistance at the municipal level for strategic planning and project development was identified as the outcome of two previous projects run by the REC ("Municipal Waste-Management Practices in Three Baltic Countries" and "REAP Component 17b: training for implementing investment heavy directives").

The objectives of the current projects are to build the necessary capacity at the municipal level for strategic planning and project preparation techniques (Logframe analysis, in particular) in the three Baltic countries, with the overall goal of improving their waste-management practices.

In this perspective, a training course – implemented by REC Country Office Estonia – has been organised for identifying locations within Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania that are in need of developing or re-shaping their  waste-management strategy.
