Activities The Italian Trust Fund is an important supporter of the REC’s Climate Change Programme, which helps: strengthen Central and Eastern Europe's (CEE) capacity for climate protection; bring CEE policies and institutions into compliance with international commitments; and CEE to respond to opportunities for infrastructure development created by the Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Kyoto Protocol. The ITF is an important contributor to the grants mechanism, with which REC’s Climate Change Programme is allowing the region's NGOs to conduct project activities and compile national reports. These comprise the bulk of individual REC publications that are produced as each of the following projects are concluded.
