The sustainable transport
team supports building capacities of authorities and public transport
practitioners in integrating environmental concerns into transport policy
and the concept of sustainable transport in cities. The work is implemented
in EU member states, accession countries, and SEE countries including
Turkey. Special attention is given to the promotion of EU transport policies,
initiatives, and examples of good practice.
The services provided could be summarised as follows:
- studies and analysis of transport problems, needs
and priorities;
- preparation of local, national and European transport
events such as training activities;
- preparation of awareness-raising and promotional
activities and products;
- assistance in writing transport project proposals;
- management of transport-related projects;
- contribution to policy development;
- training to address specific needs and problems;
and
- dissemination of information about best practice
in sustainable transport solutions.
