Early meetings saw the Group begin drafting separate user requirements and good practice EN-TAP reports, and the presentation of various telematics applications in the field of air and water management. The 5th meeting, an extended two-day seminar held at the Regional Environmental Center in Szentendre, Hungary on March 2-3, 1998, provided an opportunity to introduce new actors to EN-TAP. 19 participants, mainly from Central and Eastern European countries, joined the 12 existing members of the Expert Group. Meeting discussions concentrated on the environmental approximation strategies of the CEE transition countries and on drafts of the good practice case-studies, which helped gather further input for the reports under development. A session was also dedicated to discussion of the content of the DETERMINE conference, scheduled for June 1998, at which many ENWAP experts were present. During the most recent meetings, held in Brussels and attended by new members from Croatia, the Czech Republic and Slovenia, conclusions and recommendations for the good practice document were drafted and the guide itself was finalized. New projects involved in environment Telematics were also presented and discussed.
