Information Society Technologies for the Environment
Discussion ForumBefore you post...
Decision-makers, both public and private, and society at large are becoming part of a growing society of information users. As a result, they are increasingly becoming dependent on information and telecommunication technologies. Information Society Technologies (ISTs) are those tools that support the management and transfer of information, its access and availability to a wide range of users, and that help contribute to informed decision-making.The primary goal of this noticeboard is to serve as an interactive forum for exchanging comments, questions, experiences and suggestions regarding ISTs.
Whether you are an active end-user or simply are interested in ISTs you are encouraged to contribute to discussions that appear on the board. The board will be cleared at the end of every 2nd month, or after 100k worth of messages have accumulated.
The board will also offer related announcements for conferences, workshops, publications, products, to report on research progress, tender opportuntities, product reviews, etc.
For those of you who are interested, an IST Environment email discussion list also exists for a more interactive discussion forum. To subscribe, send an email to listserv@rec.org with the subject line left blank and in the body of the message, the word "subscribe ISTENV-L"
Any other comments or questions, can be mailed directly to Jerome Simpson: JSimpson@rec.org
