Anyone interested in or involved with air pollution dispersion modeling is invited to visit the website at: ...................... http://www.air-dispersion.com to learn about "FUNDAMENTALS OF STACK GAS DISPERSION" ... a comprehensive single-source reference book on dispersion modeling of continuous, buoyant pollution plumes. The website provides a brief description of the book, peer reviews published in technical journals, the book's complete table of contents, and other information. Topics covered in the book include: classifying atmospheric stability; determining of buoyant pollution plume rise; Gaussian dispersion calculations and modeling; developing windspeed profiles; trapped pollution plumes; fumigated plumes; flare stack plumes; meteorological parameters, and much more. Dear Sirs, We are The Kuban Regional Association of Independent Consulting Engineers, multiprofessional team of Scientists and Engineers, working in the fields of Construction, Ecology and Water balance. We are pleased to represent you the Scientific research of one our member, regarding water monitoring methods on topics: -"Method of assessing of the channels and flumes technical conditions", -"Method of Measuring mean velocity of water course with a stable bed" -"Acoustic method of sediment discharge measuring" We would be pleased to submit our articles to you in case of your possible interest. Others interesting fields of joint activities is "Optimization of the Distant Consulting Services on the New Territories (for Joint Construction Projects) by CAD &NET tools(including 3D modeling for Visualization of investments. We are looking forward to cooperation with you, seeking for direct contacts with our members to provide the international research, based on Top technologies, for common benefit of all mankind. We would be pleased to be involved in NATO Science Fellowship Programme. Please, keep in touch. Regards, Andrew V. Vydych President AICE

we at IN+ are dealing with Environmental Management Systems that also can be applied to health problems in industry (dangerous substances etc.) For your problem a 3D approach in GIS systems might help. But I'm not a specialist in this field. I give a copy of this mail to partners that might have expierence in this field. Hope this might help you. I'm working for Institute of public health and we often have to solve problems caused by one object shadowing the other one. In process of solving this kind of problems we often have to determine the time period in which one object is in the shade of the other object. I am looking for the software for calculating the shadow. Can someone help me? Thank you in advance!

Environmental problems represent one of the major hurdles in CEE countries' bid to join the European Union (EU). According to EU officials, accession countries will have to spend EUR 120bn on the environment to meet EU requirements.

With these environmental challenges in mind, a valuable opportunity exists to marry the benefits of environmental Information Society Technologies (IST) to many of Central and Eastern Europe's environmental priorities.

For instance, a path toward sustainable development can be achieved through IST support to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of environmental management. The regular collection and exchange of CEE environmental data can help contribute to *informed* decision and policy-making. The trans-boundary access and exchange of data can facilitate regional environmental improvement. For society, ISTs can offer a vehicle to freely access environmental information and become more involved in a transparent and cooperative decision-making process.

These benefits can also wholly contribute to improving compliance with legislation, helping facilitate harmonisation and compliance with regulations of the EUs Acquis Communautaire.

The opportunity to speed the EU integration of CEE countries is there for the taking. It is now up to decision-makers to act and speed the region's participation in the European Information Society. The REC, through these web pages and the IST activities outlined within them is keen to facilitate this process wherever possible.

Thoughts and suggestions for future support activities are welcomed.
