Follow legal reforms in South Eastern Europe The Regional Environmental Center has launched a new, more complete website for its project, “Assistance in Environmental Law Drafting in South Eastern Europe.” The project is part of the CARDS programme funded by the European Union. The site contains all the key information of work begun in 2001 to assist the countries of South Eastern Europe in meeting their obligations within the Stabilisation and Association Process, with particular reference to upgrading and aligning domestic environmental laws with the EU acquis. The project has played a key role in ensuring regional cooperation for the development of environmental law, transfer of experience within the region, transfer of lessons learned from the EU, and promotion of a strategic regional approach to the approximation of EU legislation. The improved website contains: complete information on all activities to date; a database of country-based environmental law-drafting activities, searchable by keyword and type of activity; downloadable publications; and updates on coming events.
