Two-year plan for Balkan programme

The ninth meeting of the task force for the Regional Environmental Reconstruction Programme for South East Europe (REReP) had been scheduled for September 28-29 in Skopje. The host country, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, is assuming the co-chairmanship of the task force. SEE delegations were to focus on the main issues and challenges with which they are confronted in their efforts to approximate legislation and implement and enforce EU environmental norms, said Yordanka Minkova, the REC’s project manager of the REReP Secretariat. REReP two-year work plan for 2007-2008 was drafted and presented by the REC as secretariat of the programme. The plan covers six work areas of environmental assistance in the region: law drafting; environmental investments; enforcement and compliance; environmental assessment; waste management; and secretariat operations.
