Events The capacity building component of the PEIP project addressed the need to increase the capacities of ministry officials and local level project developers . Through six regional workshops, comprehensive training was provided on environmental investment project development, prioritisation and project financing. See details of the workshops below. The meeting gathered major stakeholders involved in the region including high officials from SEE countries, the European Commission, international financing institutions, representatives of the donors community and other interested stakeholders. This meeting was organised back-to-back with the 8th meeting of the Regional Environmental Reconstruction Programme (REReP) Task Force, held on September 23, where the results of the PEIP and conclusions of the PEIP regional meeting were reported. Downloads: Agenda (42 KB - PDF) List of Participants (89 KB - PDF) Minutes (272 KB - PDF) 2nd Regional Meeting – June 2003 Ohrid, former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia The second regional meeting gathered experts and decision makers from South Eastern Europe and representatives from the donor community and international financing institutions. The meeting was focused on endorsement of the Priority Environmental Investment Programme (PEIP) and discussions on the implementation of the PEIP. Additionally, the follow-up activities for the Network of Environmental and Finance Specialists were discussed. Download the List of Participants (226-KByte PDF file) 1st Regional Meeting – March 2003, Budapest, Hungary The first regional meeting gathered experts and decision makers from South Eastern Europe and representatives from the donor community. The main aims of the meeting were to discuss the work on regional environmental priorities, to present the approach towards prioritisation of environmental investment projects, to discuss the status of collecting national lists of priority projects and to discuss the draft regional assessment of the institutional and policy framework for implementation of the environmental investment projects.
