Assistance in Environmental Law Drafting in South Eastern Europe Activities

Regional activities ELAN / ELDNSO network meetings Topic-oriented workshops Study visits Conference Support Country/Entity-based activities Phase 3. activities Capacity building for legal drafting at the regional level: This activity includes the organisation of study visits, a regional workshop and meetings of the Environmental Law Approximation Network (ELAN) Information tools: This activity includes the preparation of a brochure, Matrix updates, newsletter preparation, website updates, creation of an e-mail list, and information exchange facilitation. Progress monitoring for potential candidate countries and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (this activity replaces the former activity 3 “Country/entity-specific request-driven assistance”): Progress monitoring activities involve compliance checking of environmental legislation that is being drafted and adopted in the target countries and updating guidance material on the transposition and implementation of environmental legislation. Additionally, the activities will provide the tools and methodology for tracking and assessing progress in the beneficiary countries in their preparation for integration into the EU, especially in terms of the transposition and implementation of EU environmental legislation.
