Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Network for Accession (ECENA) Secretariat

The Secretariat shall maintain contact with the National Network Coordinators and other members of the network. The Secretariat shall support the Chairmen of the plenary meeting in the function of their duties and prepares the draft agenda for the plenary meeting. It is responsible for all organizational and logistical issues related to the plenary meeting. The Secretariat actively disseminates information from other similar compliance and enforcement networks such as Implementation and Enforcement of Environmental Law (IMPEL), the International Network for Environmental Compliance and Enforcement (INECE) and Regulatory Environmental Programme Implementation Network - REPIN (previously known as NISECEN - NIS Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Network) The Secretariat shall also disseminate information from and to the European Commission, international organizations and donors etc. The Secretariat shall review the progress of the ECENA activities for each plenary meeting, while the members of the ECENA review their national key achievements in environmental regulatory compliance and enforcement. The Secretariat shall be managed by the REC for CEE, and works in close cooperation with the EC and IMPEL.
