Date of the next meeting. NOTES ON THE AGENDA November 9, 2000 (Thursday) 10.00- 10.30 REGISTRATION 10.30-10.55 Item 1. Welcome and opening remarks Co-chairmen, Mr. Jean-Francois Verstrynge (European Commission) and Mr. Toni Popovski, (Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia) will welcome delegates and open the meeting. Item 2. Adoption of the draft agenda Delegates will be invited to approve the draft agenda as set out in: REReP/TF/2(a) Item 3. Adoption of Secretariat report about the 1st meeting of the REReP Task Force Delegates will be invited to adopt the Secretariat report about the 1st meeting of the REReP Task Force in Cavtat, Croatia, 6/7 July 2000, REReP/TF/2/(b) 10.55 - 11.20 Item 4. Major developments since 1st REReP Task Force meeting Brief presentations will be made on major developments in REReP process since 1st meeting of the REReP Task Force at Cavtat, Croatia, on 6/7 July 2000 Presentations included: a) Report on the Stability Pact Working Table II meeting, Istanbul 16/17 October, 2000 (Ronald Dryer, Office of the Special Coordinator of the Stability Pact) b) Report on the NGO Steering Committee establishment and activities c) Report on the NGO consultation meeting which took place on 1st September 2000, Szentendre, REReP/TF/2/ ) (Toni Vidan, NGO Steering Comitee representative) 11.20 - 12.20 Item 5 Review of the environmental reconstruction, development and cooperation in the region (reports by the countries) co-chairmen will lead country by country review that would focus on the Review of the environmental reconstruction, development and cooperation in the region SEE country representatives are invited to give short report (5 minutes) regarding this agenda item, and in particular: 1. institutional strengthening and policy reforms 2. environmental investment projects in line with the Regional Environmental Reconstruction processes 3. planned activities in the near future 4. use of cooperative mechanisms in REReP implementation 5. current problems 12.20-12.30 Item 6. Participation of Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in the REReP The recent political changes in FR of Yugoslavia, and the fact that this country has joined the Stability Pact, open the way for reconsidering the FR of Yugoslavia status in REReP. The FRY representatives at the meeting may wish to address this issue. Delegates are invited to discuss the participation of FR of Yugoslavia in the REReP and make respective decisions. 12:30 - 14:30 LUNCH 12.30-13.00 press briefing (Working lunch for Heads of SEE delegations hosted by the European Commission) 14.30- 16-15 Item 7 Progress to date in the REReP implementation The REReP Task Force Secretariat has prepared statistics on progress to date of REReP implementation. The statistics show the current state of donor commitments, as well as the implementation arrangements of the REReP as a whole. The updated funding status table and associated project list will be also presented together with REReP statistics and indicators of success REReP/TF/2/(d) Delegates are invited to take note of the statistics and the updated funding status table. The donors are invited to inform about any additional commitments for project funding. Item 8 Possible new REReP project proposals The REReP TF Secretariat has prepared a list of possible new project proposals to be included into REReP list of projects REReP/TF/2/(f) Delegates are invited to discuss the new project proposals 16.15 - 16.30 COFFEE BREAK 16.30-17.00 Item 9 Reporting and monitoring of REReP projects The REReP TF Secretariat has prepared a draft template for project implementation monitoring REReP/TF/2/(e).
