First study tour (March 17-22, 2003, in Brandenburg, Germany) |

The first BERCEN study tour for six
environmental inspectors (1-page MS-Word file) from Bosnia and
Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro, and FYR Macedonia, funded by
the European Commission assistance program OBNOVA, was carried out on
March 17-22, 2003, in Brandenburg, Germany in cooperation with the German
Society for Technical Cooperation. The study tour focused (see the 8-page
MS-Word agenda) on the organization of
the environmental protection, Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control
(IPPC) Directive (96/61/EC), permitting, inspection planning, etc.
Participants visited the Ministry for Agriculture, Environment and
Environmental Planning of Brandenburg, Federal Environment Agency, Federal
Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, and
also installations. The participants considered the study tour very
successful (see the evaluation
results, MS-Excel).
