The Partnership Service helps Danish environmental organisations find ways to work together with environmental NGOs from Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and the Newly Independent States (NIS). The REC's NGO Support Programme and the Danish Outdoor Council (DOC), with financial support of the Danish Environmental Protection Agency (DANCEE), actively facilitate this cooperation by: Making available an excellent source of information on NGOs from CEE. The NGO Directory lists more than 2,700 environmental NGOs from 16 CEE countries and territories: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Serbia and Montenegro. Besides providing contact information of listed NGOs and their fields of expertise, the NGO Directory is an ideal tool for partnership development because it shows both the level of participation (local, national and international) and their interest in partnership projects.   Providing the possibility for direct contacts in all CEE countries through the REC's Country Office Network. REC staff working in the country offices are an invaluable source of information related to: the country's environmental situation; the country's NGO movement; local and national NGO activities; and national events for environmental NGOs. In cases where a group of Danish NGOs wishes to meet with a group of NGOs from a country in the CEE region, the country cffice can also assist with advice on NGO activity.   Presentations from Danish NGOs on project ideas developed by NGOs in the CEE and NIS region. The REC and DOC organised a meeting on September 9, 2002 in Copenhagen, Denmark during which several environmental projects were presented to Danish NGOs, giving them the opportunity to form partnerships in the planning and implementation phase (see the agenda as a PDF file). The ECNC Directory of national nature conservation organisations contains those institutes and organisations that work on a national (and sometimes regional) level for biodiversity conservation. This includes government authorities, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and research institutes.
