Assisting capacity building in countries in the Central and Eastern European (CEE) region to facilitate the process of ratification of the Kyoto Protocol by the CEE countries: Assistance to the CEE countries in public awareness raising and capacity building for public participation in order to create a broader constituency for support of the Kyoto Protocol; Support to building of capacities in the CEE countries for a more effective participation in the flexible mechanisms of the Kyoto Protocol; and Assistance in strengthening of institutions, organizational structures and human resources for implementation of CEE countries' commitments under the Kyoto Protocol.
