Activities The Italian Trust Fund is supporting seminars and workshops in order to meet the country needs of Bulgaria, Romania, Yugoslavia and Macedonia and of the Baltic States in addressing waste management and water treatment in a trans-boundary perspective. Training is geared for experts from environmental agencies and municipal administrations involved in policy-making, strategies, programmes and development plans, as well as practitioners from municipal and private companies. Training provides the possibility for participants to be updated on new technical equipment models and processes, to be directed towards practical implementation and testing of different alternatives; or in some other instances, training courses are more focused on theoretical strategic planning and project preparation techniques. Projects The following projects are being currently implemented: Water Treatment Training Center in Bulgaria, Romania, FYR Macedonia and Serbia and Montenegro Training Seminars for Implementation of Waste Management Practices in Bulgaria, Romania, FYR Macedonia and Serbia and Montenegro Assistance for development of waste management strategies and projects on municipal level in three Baltic countries
