Activities The Italian Trust Fund (ITF) supports activities in support of ministries of environment, and other environmental institutions and agencies, to further develop and strengthen their institutional, regulatory and legislative structures capable of implementing effective and integrated environmental management on a national and entitity basis. The ITF currently addresses its efforts to assist institutions in environmental management and protection of the two entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina -- i.e. the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Republic of Srpska - -within the framework of economic reconstruction in South Eastern Europe (SEE). It is widely recognised that the environment can play a leading role in generating regional stability, and environmental cooperation is viewed as a politically neutral issue that can contribute to the establishment of trans-boundary agreements and cooperative networks in the SEE region Projects The following projects are being currently implemented by REC Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina: Support to the Environmental Steering Committee in Bosnia and Herzegovina Establishment of the Environmental Protection Agency in Bosnia and Herzegovina
