EU Accession – SEA of Programming Documents for EU Structural Funds in CEE

 
Title: Establishment of the EIA Center in Turkey
Period: 2004
Donors: SENTER (the Netherlands)

Project aims to establish a National EIA Centre in Turkey. In addition training documents will be developed in Turkish language and network of EIA trainers will be established. REC provides EIA and capacity and institutional development expertise in the project. It is jointly implemented with the DHV Consult, the Netherlands..

Title: SEA of Transport Policies in CEE
Period: 1998-1999
Donors: Ministry of Housing, Physical Planning and the Environment of the Netherlands

This project aimed to increase awareness of senior government decision-makers about environmental impacts of planned transport policies in CEE. The main outcome of the project is a SEA scoping report for VI. Multi-Modal Corridor Warsaw-Budapest. This report has been discussed with all major stakeholders in Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Hungary and presented to the Ministerial Consultation on Environmental Policy-making in Central and Eastern Europe on June 19, 2000 in Szentendre.

Title: SEA of the National Development Plan of the Czech Republic (2002)

The project carried out large-scale SEA of the first National Development Plan of the Czech Republic. It was commissioned by the Ministry of Regional Development of the Czech Republic and was jointly implemented by the REC and the Czech Academy of Sciences.

The project aimed at facilitation of uptake of effective SEA of RDPs that are being prepared within the EU Accession process. The project provided practical support in undertaking of SEA for National Development Plans and related programming documents for EU Structural Funds in three selected countries (Hungary, Estonia and Poland).

Title: Regional Workshop: SEA in Selected EU Accession Countries
Period: April 2003
Donors: Ministry of Housing, Physical Planning and the Environment of the Netherlands

The project aimed at experience exchange with SEA among Visegrad countries, Croatia and Estonia. The project provided a regional workshop that focused on experience with SEA of land-use plans, national policies and EU structural funds programs.

Donors: Ministry of Regional Development of the Czech Republic

The project undertook large-scale SEA of the National Development Plan of the Czech Republic. The project was commissioned by the Ministry of Regional Development of the Czech Republic and was implemented by the REC.

The project undertook preliminary environmental assessment of Regional Operational Programme of Bulgaria. It was supported by the Dutch government and was implemented by DHV Consult BV (the Netherlands), the REC and POVVIK-OOS, Ltd. (Bulgaria)..

The project undertook preliminary environmental assessment of the first Regional Development Plan of the Czech Republic. It was supported by the Ministry of Regional Development of the Czech Republic.
