In June 2000 the REC
celebrated the 10th anniversary of its foundation by hosting
events of regional importance.
Between the 17th-19th
of June government officials, leaders of environmental NGOs and businesspeople
came together at the REC Head Office in Szentendre. At three conferences,
held alongside the festivities, Central and Eastern Europe and
the EC was aimed to make progress in environmental policy development.
