The EAP Task Force brings together environmental representatives
from all CEE countries, the NIS and Organisation for Economic Development
and Cooperation (OECD) countries, as well as international organisations,
financial institutions, parliamentarians and social partners the
enterprise sector, trade unions and environmental citizens organisations.
The Task Force is co-chaired by the European Commission together with
a Central and Eastern European country, chosen to serve on a rotating
basis.
The main objective of the Task Force is to facilitate implementation of
the policy and institutional aspects of the EAP by:
- promoting the integration of environmental considerations
into the processes
- of economic and political reform;
- upgrading capacity for environmental management;
- broadening support for environmental improvement;
- and promoting the mobilisation and cost-effective use
of financial resources.
