EAP Task Force - How it works

The activities of the Environmental Action Programme (EAP) Task Force have been carried out in two sub-programmes since the Aarhus Conference in 1998. A unit located at the Environment Directorate of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) supports the work in Eastern Europe, the Caucuses and Central Asia (EECCA), and the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe (REC) assists in implementing activities in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). The OECD and the REC serve jointly as secretariat of the EAP Task Force.

The EAP Task Force cooperates closely with the Project Preparation Committee (PPC) which facilitates cooperation between international financing institutions and donors to accelerate environmental investment in the region. The PPC Secretariat is located at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London.

The operations of the Task Force were split into two work programmes: from 1998-2000 and from 2001-2003.
