Partnership as a Precondition for Successful Education on Sustainable Development

The purpose of this side event is to present a wide spectrum of arguments for, and good practices of, partnership between officials, businesses, NGOs and educators as a crucial precondition for efficient implementation of the Pan-European Strategy on Environmental Education on Sustainable Development.

With a focus on the Pan-European Strategy, the event will offer participants a chance to share their experiences with environmental activities in support of sustainable development and to present models based on innovative approaches in the field of education. Interdisciplinary solutions will be featured that take into account the environmental, social, economic, safety and security concerns that modern society faces. Partnerships between key players (European organisations, governmental and educational institutions, NGOs, educators, environmentalists and business organisations) will be demonstrated as a model for developing educational materials, training educators, and raising awareness among students, their families and the general public through formal, informal and vocational education, and life-long learning.
